2011 Indian Motorcycles Canadian Debut
Indian In Canada
Indian Motorcycles presented the new 2011 Chief Blackhawk and Dark Horse colors to the public at the North America International Motorcycle Supershow at International Centre in Canada on Jan. 7, 2011. Inspired by the Art Deco era, the Blackhawk and Blackhawk Dark are new-for-2011 special edition Chief motorcycle models.
The Blackhawk motorcycle comes in Thunder Black with Ivory Cream and Indian Red custom detailing, while the Blackhawk Dark arrives in Thunder Black with Indian Red custom detailing. The Chief Dark Horse is a dark and sinister motorcycle available in new gloss finishes of Thunder Black and Indian Red, as well as a smoke "matte" finish available in Thunder Black, Indian Red and Deep Water Blue.
The 2011 Indian motorcycles feature American-built 105 cubic inch PowerPlus V-Twin powertrains with electronic closed loop sequential port fuel injection. The cylinders are Nikasil-plated, and the stainless steel exhaust system has an integrated 3-way catalytic converter with heated oxygen sensors.
A 6-speed Baker transmission delivers power to the real wheel via a belt drive. Stopping is achieved via updated Brembo 4-piston calipers, with 11.5-inch dual rotors up front. A standard 5.5-gallon fuel tank extends the Indians' cruising range. Seats are all-leather and built to exacting specifications.
Indian Motorcycle accessories were also on display, and apparel available for purchase, at North America International Motorcycle Supershow at International Centre. All 2011 Chiefs feature 110th anniversary badging, as well as a 110th anniversary speedometer.
Indian Motorcycle was founded in 1901 in Springfield, MA, and Pappy Hoel, one of the company's original dealers, founded the legendary Sturgis Rally. Indian Motorcycle, now located in Kings Mountain, NC, takes great pride in its rich history.
"We are all excited to be part of 110 years of history," Chris Bernauer, Indian Motorcycle General Manager told Ultimate MotorCycling.
"Our new product, accessories and apparel show that Indian Motorcycle Company is looking forward while celebrating our past. We strive to achieve a great product through sound engineering, dedication to quality, exceptional dealers and outstanding customer service."
2011 Triumph Thunderbird Storm
2011 Thunderbird Storm
New for 2011 is a power cruiser for riders who expect a harder-edge from their Triumph ride: the Triumph Thunderbird Storm motorcycle.
Powered by a big-bore 1700cc version of the Triumph T-16 parallel twin engine, the new Thunderbird Storm has massive 107 mm pistons that pump out a claimed 97 hp, with a meaty 115 lb/ft of torque at just 2950 rpm.
The Thunderbird Storm utilities the same motorcycle chassis as the award-winning Triumph Thunderbird, a cruiser bike renowned for its poise and precision handling, but is wrapped up in a pared down, punked-up look.
Triumph's iconic twin headlights, made famous on the Rocket III and Speed Triple motorcycle models, and drag bars perfectly fit this street rod's aggressive nature and are complemented by the deep metallic Phantom Black or dark Matt Black paint options, and the matching blacked out engine cases.
The low 700 mm seat height provides a sumptuous laid back riding, while handling will provide a pleasant surprise to cruiser and non-cruiser riders alike. Triumph is renowned for its ability to make fine handling motorcycles and the 2011 Thunderbird Storm provides no exception.
With 47mm forks up front and five-way adjustable twin shocks at the rear, the Triumph delivers a compliant and accurate ride in all conditions, while well appointed twin 310 mm floating discs up front are grabbed by powerful four-piston brakes for progressive stopping power, with optional ABS for increased motorcycle rider security.
Sporting Metezeler Marathon tires, developed especially for the Thunderbird motorcycle range, adorn five-spoke cast alloy wheels and inspire confidence while cornering.
And while the look may be minimalist, the Thunderbird Storm's specification sheet certainly isn't. This power cruiser oozes quality, from the premium components to the neat attention to detail and a distinctive new Triumph script on the tank, this is a motorcycle for the discerning rider looking for a distinctive alternative to the mainstream offerings.
The tank mounted speedo includes a comprehensive on-board computer which includes a clock, two trip meters and fuel gauge, in addition to a small and stylish tachometer.
A range of almost 100 motorcycle accessories are available for the Thunderbird Storm, giving owners the chance to personalize their bikes to meet their own needs and tastes.

2011 FXS Blackline Softail
Announced at the New York International Motorcycle Show, the new stripped-to-the-bone 2011 Harley-Davidson Blackline motorcycle is the latest in the Harley Softail model family.
As the next edition to the growing and ever-popular Dark Custom motorcycle line, the Blackline celebrates three fundamental elements of Harley-Davidson motorcycling: mechanical beauty, internal combustion, and the V-twin thirst to ride the black-line (road) ahead.
The 2011 Harley Blackline motorcycle balances allegiance with rebellion, discarding previous conventions of color and chrome for a Dark Custom look that's straight-forward, functional and attainable.
Visual elements of the original bobber motorcycle movement are combined with the raw, hand-shewn style embraced by today's young custom bike builders. Harley hopes that the new Blackline is fuel on a fire that burns across generations that will create an unquenchable desire to ride motorcycles.
The Blackline rear fender is bobbed high-and-tight over a slim, 144mm tire that emphasizes an authentic hardtail profile. The compact headlight and speedometer are tucked low into the wide, FX front end, and there's just enough shine to make the black parts look blacker. Black-rimmed laced wheels complete a look that's tough, tempered and undeniably Harley-Davidson.
The Blackline styling spotlight shines on a Harley-Davidson Big Twin engine dressed in black and silver, and on a fuel tank shaved smooth and low.
Aboard the Blackline, the motorcycle rider hugs the frame on the lowest two-up seat ever offered by Harley-Davidson, and reaches high for new Split Drag handlebars that bolt right to the top triple-clamp.
The Softail chassis utilizes rear suspension control provided by coil-over shock absorbers mounted horizontally along the frame rails below the powertrain, where they are out of sight.
So while the swingarm section replicates the lines of a vintage hardtail frame, the Blackline delivers suspension performance and handling that are thoroughly modern.
The internally counter-balanced Twin Cam 96B (balance) engine is rigid-mounted within the frame, creating a solid connection between rider and the power that moves the motorcycle to enhance the emotional experience of riding.

2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 Review
Aprilia Dosorduro Review
Originating from the habitat of Noale, in the province of Venice, Italy, the 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 appeared to be just the type of urban assault, canyon-carving supermotard motorcycle I was looking to get my hands on.
It's the type of motorcycle you might see World Superbike champion Max Biaggi tooling around town on during the off-season.
Although entomology is by no means my forté, I couldn't help but be struck by the similarities in appearance between the Aprilia Dorsoduro supermoto and the colloquially named praying mantis.
Of course, I was host to the aptly provided laser green paint scheme and as I peered into the eyes of this predatory vehicular insect, I was convicted further upon noticing the designs of headlight, windscreen, front fender, hand guards, turn signals and antennae-like rear view mirrors that protrude just so.
Even the dual, under seat exhaust and tailpiece configuration hint of a mantis posterior.
Animal Kingdom comparisons aside, the 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 impressed me as soon as I fired it up. The Dorsoduro's liquid cooled, 4-valve, double overhead cam, 90 degree V-Twin motor let out a crisp, snappy growl that triggered an instant smile.
Once aboard the Aprilia, I found myself on tiptoes to keep the Dorsoduro upright, a possible deterrent for those in want of a lengthy inseam.
Although the seat height measures just over 34 inches, my initial concern was quickly allayed once riding and I felt how light and agile the motorcycle felt beneath me.
This was due in part to the Dorsoduro's distinctive mixed trellis and aluminum frame as well as the adjustable front and rear suspension.
Additionally, the 43mm upside down fork offers adjustments for both spring preload and rebound damping. The bars felt light in my hands, the Aprilia eager to respond.
The 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is stripped down to essentials and wastes no fanfare with superfluous gadgetry or plastic body parts.
Make no mistake, the collective sum of its parts that do make the cut equal components that leave no wonder Biaggi was on the WSBK podium often enough to earn last year's championship.
I felt reassured under braking by the 4-piston radial calipers and 320 mm wave discs in the front and was pleasantly surprised by the response of the seldom-used rear brake.
With Aprilia's Tri-Map ride by wire system, I found myself in eager anticipation of how the Dorsoduro's 92 horsepower and 60 ft/lbs torque would translate to my right wrist commands as I journeyed through the local canyons and city streets.
Oddly, I found what I thought I'd enjoy most--the Sport mode--to be, dare I say, overly responsive and snappy.
Plainly put, it is too abrupt for my liking, even in the canyons. That said, the map for the Rain mode kept thrills to a minimum, as would be appropriate for the setting. I've kept the Dorsoduro 750 on Touring mode ever since and find that to be the best balance of power and smooth.
The mixed analog/digital instrumentation cluster is easy on the eyes and informative, with the exception of the level of fuel in the tank.
Speaking of fuel, I was a bit unimpressed at the frequency I've had to visit the gas station to satiate the Dorsoduro 750's thirst.
The 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is a bike flexible enough to accommodate riders of all levels--as long as they are tall enough that they are not intimidated by the seat height. Dirt riders migrating to the street will be especially drawn to this supermoto motorcycling.
If the seat height isn't an issue, the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is easy enough to handle for the beginner, yet punchy, powerful and nimble enough to satisfy even the upper echelon riders.
This green Italian mantis, I mean supermoto, is a bike I find excuses to ride as often as possible, even in the 45-degree morning chill on the way to work.

Harley Davidson, a brand which become a legend, not only in US but also in entire world. The history 1 of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle began in Milwaukee in 1903. This motorcycle was initially built for racing and was powered by a one-cylinder gasoline combustion engine. Later that year the first Harley-Davidson dealership, C.H. Lang of Chicago, opened and sold one of three motorcycles manufactured that year. In 1906, due to increasing demands and need for a larger facility to fabricate their motorcycles, Harley-Davidson moved to a new factory measuring just 28×80 feet on Juneau Ave. Along with this expansion came more jobs. By now Harley-Davidson employed 6 full-time employees. Also this year the first Company catalogue was produced and distributed. In 1907, some big advances took place. The Harley-Davidson Motor Company was incorporated on September 17th, 1907, and the number of employees increased to a healthy 18. The size of the factory also doubled.
Son's Of Anarchy Season 2 episode 6 review
. This episode begins with the ambulance taking Chibs away.
. Unser and Clay are talking about the fact that bombs bring in the Feds. Clay wants revenge, and Unser wants Clay to keep it outside of Charming. Clay says to Unser, Then you get me a home address on Zobel and Weston. They both live out of town-otherwise you'll be watching Main Street on the ten o-clock news". Unser replies with a "Jesus Christ."
. We see Hale and Jax talking. Hale says to Jax, "This was Zobel." Jax, "Otto, now Chibs; this guys trying to break us all." More chit chat between the two.... Hale wants to know what Jax will do if he finds Zobel before the rest of the club. Jax says. "We both know this guy's got some kind of leverage on you; Think of it as a self serving favor" Hale agrees to help Jax by getting an address for him on Zobel and Weston with some information on where they might be.
. Opie's Ma tries to get Jax to help her. Opie is not spending much time at home with the kids, and she wants Jax to talk to Opie.
. Tara asks Jax if she is in danger, If they are in danger.
. SAMCRO holds a meeting. Clay says, "Zobel tried to kill 2 of us in the last 12 hours. This charter doesn't wait any longer; We kill em. Do I need to take a vote?"
Nobody says a thing. Clay gets up and leaves. Shortly after, the rest of the club does too.
. In a room inside the clubhouse where Opie has been staying, Jax has his conversation with him about him not being right yet with all that has happened. Opie turns the tables, and tells Jax, he's the one with the problems. He starts accusing Jax of wanting to take the club over and basically states that it's Clays Club, and he'll just have to get in line. It ain't his time yet.
. The Irish have a meeting with Zobel. (WTF?) Can't wait to see what'll arise out of this in the future.
.With the help of Hale, they get the address of A.J. Weston. They break in after seeing some movement in the window. Gun fire is exchanged right away, only to find out it is Weston's little kid. I think about 10 years old max. The kid gets caught, no one shot, but damn close. He's a mouthy little prick. When asked where his dad is, he says, "I ain't tellin you shit, race trader." Then he spits on Jax.
. Clay breaks into Impeccable Smokes and trashes the place.
. Gemma and Tara are in the hospital. They are talking and we find out that Chibs is stable but in critical condition still. He has major head trauma that could possibly need some pressure relieving if the swelling doesn't go down on its own.
. While in the hospital Tara asks Gemma if she can get a ride home with her. Gemma obliges. She says she'll wait around till Tara is done. Also while at the hospital while waiting for Tara to finish her shift, Gemma talks to Hale and finds out that Hale knows about the rape. Unser had no choice but to tell Hale because Hale was starting to believe the bullshit about Zobel being good for Charming. Unser wanted Hale to know the truth about what kind of shit bag Zobel really is. Hale gets Gemma to tell him about the Blonde girl (Zobel's daughter) who trapped her so that she could be raped. Gemma is surprised to find out David Hale wants to hurt them as bad as SAMCRO.
. Tara and Gemma leave. We find them talking about guns. Gemma asks Tara if she still has the one she gave her. She said no. She got rid of it after Cohen. Gemma gives Tara a new gun. The go out and do some target shooting. The blonde pornstar that has been trying to steal Jax from Tara pulls up in her car. Tara points the gun at her, and she goes running inside the studio. Tara says, "That was fun." Gemma says watch this; and shoots out one of the tires. Then the two of them shoot the crap out of the car and leave.
. Hale pops into Impeccable Smokes. Zobel's daughter is there cleaning up. Hale asks her where Ethan is. She say's, "Do I look like his keeper?" She refuses to cooperate, and says, "Charge me, or get out." Hale threatens to cut himself and say that it was her that did it to him, and she cooperates. She tells Hale about a gathering where Ethan is. Hale tells Jax. Too bad the bitch twisted the information up a bit. There would be many innocent people at this place. It's not quite where you want to have a shoot out.
. Clay and the rest of the club figure out where this is going to be as well by getting the information out of the computer, it is at a Christian Center.
. Jax warns them that the cops will be coming, and if they go in, they are all going to jail. Clay says, "A.K.'s and shot guns, let's go!". They storm into the place only to find out it's like a church supper or something, and A.J. Weston at Zobel's nod, fires a shot at them. The end up storming out, and the cop's are indeed waiting for them. Opie seems to have been running late to this and is riding his motorcycle and crashes it; gets up and is hiding behind the bushes, only to find the entire club getting cuffed and stuffed into the paddy wagon.
Season 2 Episode 7 can't come soon enough my friends!
